Where Your Money Goes

Supporting animal welfare and conservation has always been a prime motivator in our reptile business, your money directly supports endangered tortoises in a European effort to conserve these valuable animals, via studbooks animals are bred and offspring shared around Europe to introduce new bloodlines and conserve critically endangered species. And the profits of this site directly supports 3 breeding groups of Algerian tortoises, as well as a future group are extremely endangered North African tortoises. Thank your for your support, with out it the breeding of these would not be possible.

Why we do not sell livestock

Without exception all of our adult breeding animals are part of a Studbook, this is so we can help conserve the captive populations of these species, and so the young are handed to a studbook to be distributed to like minded individuals who have conservation as a motivating factor for keeping these wonderful creatures.
The rest of our animals have come to us from various backgrounds and have needed immediate veterinary treatment and rehabilitation work to get them back into shape. As with everything some of this work is easy, some long hard and soul destroying work, but always the end result is what keeps us going. We are not a rehoming or rescue centre we have simply acquired animals from various backgrounds and situations where we have felt we can offer the funds, time and experience to help them live a more natural captive life. This has always been at the heart of what we do. And we are eternally grateful for every order that is placed through this website, as without the profits from this, would not have the funds to support these wonderful reptiles we share our work and life with.

Further to that we are pleased to support the Tortoise Trust in their work and so you feel you are aiding directly a good cause we have set up a new category: Jill Martin Fund for Tortoise Welfare and ConservationAny products brought from that section of the website have the same selling prices as normal, with the difference being part of your money goes directly to that Charity, each item will have different donations but is clearly indicated in the description of how much of you money will go directly to the charity.
